201 Speedway Ends 2017 Season On a Positive Note Preparing for 2018

Sitka, Kentucky (October 10, 2017) Promoters Steve & Stan Howard have announced that the gates have closed on the 2017 season at 201. We want to thank our fans, racers, sponsors, and any and all volunteers that helped our fall season to be successful.

Steve Howard stated, “we were thinking about trying to hold another race before closing but decided to go ahead and shut down for 2017 and begin preparations for the 2018 season”. Howard also says that the staff and track officials were very pleased with the operations during these races. We tried some different formats and programs during this fall with the intent of seeing what works best and now we have some insight on what to do and what not to do next season, says Howard. As for the track itself we are very pleased with the surface even though we need some clay we still had a different surface each night which made for some great racing. Howard says that next year the plans are to add more races to the schedule, as for the last few years the speedway has ran a very limited schedule due mainly to an economically strained region with lots of job losses and people simply can’t afford the cost of attending each week, with that being said we are planning on running two times a month with the possibility of adding more but we’re going to sit down and weigh our options and get a schedule put together soon for racers and fans.
